Tami LaTrell
CEO
Tami LaTrell is a multi-platinum Songwriter, Music Rights Expert, and Entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in the music industry. Her songwriting catalog, published through Sony Music Publishing, includes work with acclaimed artists including Whitney Houston, Keyshia Cole, Monica, SWV, and more.
As Founder & CEO of The Mezzo Agency, Tami has helped music creators globally establish their music businesses and identify and collect millions in previously unclaimed royalties owed to them. Under her leadership, Mezzo has been recognized four consecutive years as a Top 100 Publisher by the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA). The Mezzo Agency has received grant funding from KKR, and was a recipient of Daymond John’s Black Entrepreneur’s Day with awards from TriNet, and the NAACP.
Tami currently serves as a National Trustee of the Recording Academy, following two terms as Vice President of its Atlanta Chapter. She is a graduate of Texas Southern University, completed CopyrightX through Harvard Law School, and is a Goldman Sachs 10KSB Small Businesses entrepreneur, with Executive education through Babson College.
With a career spanning both the creative and business sides of music, Tami is dedicated to helping songwriters, producers, and rights holders understand their music rights, strengthen their royalty infrastructure, and build long-term value from their work.

We at The Mezzo Agency aim to support and advocate for such vulnerable musicians, songwriters, and artists by helping set up their businesses through proper metadata enrichment and registrations for royalties. We are so committed to ensuring your rights are managed and protected that, unlike most publishers, we never take any ownership of song copyrights.
Moreover, our team also provides free-of-cost music business assessments to music creators to teach them the basics of the music business. We are available for calls and consultancy and we also organize workshops, panels, webinars, and other events for music creators to build community.
